U.S. dollar index
Softer inflation reports last week, are expected to continue to weight on the Dollar Index for this week also since the light calendar, can have low affect on the greenback indicator. FOMC meeting minutes on Wednesday the major release for this week.
Gold
The precious metal closed last week above the $1800 level and returned again below early this week. The focus is shifted mainly on FOMC meeting minutes on Wednesday, since the safe heaven instrument is trying to break the resistance of the $1800 level and continue upwards or return again to lower levels.
Oil
Price of the “liquid gold”, closed the day lower on Friday, after 4 consecutive positive days. This week is starting with China’s week economic data triggering concerns about demand for oil.
Stocks
Investors are focusing this week on the FOMC meeting minutes in order to overcome the anxiety from last week’s softer than expected inflation data. The focus will be for any indications of easing interest rates rises.
