WEEKLY ECONOMIC CALENDAR AHEAD

Here is what you need to know about the important news between January 30th 2023 and February 3rd 2023, where we take a look at the economic data, market news and headlines likely to have the biggest impact on the market prices this week and beyond, as well as the US Dollar, and other key correlated assets.

U.S. dollar index

Dollar index starts the week remaining stable near 102. Investors have their focus for this week, on FOMC meeting, with another increase on the interest rates to be expected. Non-Farm Payroll are also on Friday this week, which expectations to be at 193k from 223k last month.

Gold

Gold stays defensively around $1930, since the first week of the month is expected again to cause some disturbances on the markets. Interest rates increase for the majors banks of the world, along with the Non-Farm Payrolls announcement, will give investors the push, to buy or, get rid the safe heaven precious metal.

Oil.

Crude oil remains supported around $80 per barrel, with investors to expect the OPEC meeting on Wednesday, for any indications that will show higher supply, in order to push prices lower of the precious liquid.

Stocks

Ahead in the week, investors will be looking towards CB consumer confidence, ADP employment change, ISM manufacturing PMI, JOLTs job openings, jobless claims, nonfarm payrolls, unemployment rate, and the ISM Services PMI. The U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision and statement will also be closely monitored as cooling inflation pressures have boosted expectations of a 25-basis point hike. On the earnings front, companies including Exxon Mobil Corp, Caterpillar Inc, Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Meta Platforms Inc, Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd ADR, Alphabet Inc, Amazon.com Inc, and Apple Inc are set to report results throughout the week.
