U.S. dollar index
Columbus Day today Monday 10/10/2022 on the States, with low liquidity to be the most common issue during these days. The dollar indicator during last week managed to climb to 112, and this week started with the indicator to trying to test the 113 level.
Gold
Gold after the 5 days upward movement, it continued its direction with 4-day drop, testing the 1685 level with the 21-Daily Moving Average to provide support on the precious metal. Thursday Inflation data will most likely be the most important factor to give the next direction on the “safe heaven” precious gold.
Oil
Oil dropped a bit on Monday, as China contractor sector fuelled fears of slowing demand, although OPEC supply cut and the prospect of more disruption in the Russia Ukraine war kept price high.
Stocks
Investors will be closely monitoring speeches from Fed policymakers for further clues on the Fed’s rate hike path. In addition, fresh PPI and CPI data, the FOMC’s latest meeting minutes, retail sales, and Michigan consumer sentiment will be watched, as well as fresh earnings results from companies including Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Citigroup Inc, Wells Fargo & Company, PepsiCo Inc, and Delta Air Lines Inc.
