The index remains under pressure and keeps the trade in the sub-104.00 region. The risk aversion derived from banking jitters appears diminished and supports the selling bias in the dollar amidst firmer conviction among investors of a 25 bps rate hike by the Federal Reserve at the next meeting on March 22.
Gold prices traded just below their strongest levels in 11 months on Monday as markets gauged the impact of emergency liquidity measures from the Federal Reserve and other major central banks amid increasing fears of a banking crisis.
The Fed, the European Central Bank, and several other major central banks announced new measures to increase liquidity for the banking sector to stem any potential contagion from the collapse of several lenders over the past two weeks
